Charlotte builders meeting with Representative Ruth Samuelson in Raleigh
REBIC joined members of the Home Builders Association of Charlotte (HBAC) this week to visit our Mecklenburg County legislators in Raleigh during the 2-day NCHBA Legislative Conference.
After an evening reception at the North Carolina Museum of History, our local delegation spent Wednesday morning in the halls of the State Legislative Building, meeting with Representatives Bill Brawley, Becky Carney, Ric Killian, and Ruth Samuelson, as well as Senators Dan Clodfelter and Bob Rucho. While House Speaker Thom Tillis wasn’t able to carve out time from his busy schedule to meet with us, we managed to catch him between meetings and discuss the importance of S 731, which he had pulled from the Commerce Committee calendar the day before.
Thanks to HBAC members Alan Banks, Tom Brasse, Bill Daleure, Nicole Goolsby, Alma Jacobs, Rick Judson, Danny Kelly, Karla Hammer Knotts, Terrence Llewellyn, Brian Pace, Tom Pearson and Grady Thomas for taking time out of their busy schedules to make the drive to Raleigh and participate in this important conference. And thanks to Mike Carpenter, Lisa Martin, and the rest of the NCHBA team for being such outstanding hosts!
